Here is a musicological video about Beethoven’s Fourth Piano Concerto, created to commemorate Beethoven’s 250th birthday on 16th December 2020.
Here is an old archive video of Robert-John Edwards performing the role of Alcindoro in Puccini’s La Bohéme for Co-Opera-Co in 2010 in London.
A casual recording of Das Wirtshaus – the 21st song from the epic cycle “Winterreise” by Franz Schubert whilst I was preparing for a recital in 2017.
A casual recording in a school practice room of “In Flanders” by Ivor Gurney to words by FW Harvey (the 15th song of the “A Ploughman’s Tale” recital)… just me (roughly) accompanying myself on the piano at Stamford High School. Recorded in Autumn 2020.
This Oboe sonata was commenced in August 2019 and completed in the Lockdown of 2020 in early April. Composed for my good friend, the oboist Nadia Accili, is is comprised of three movements: a traditional sonata form movement which alternates between an strong rhythmic dance and a slow, romantic theme; a slow, introspective Nocturne; and finally, an energetic Moto Perpetuo in 7/8.
This was created in May 2020 as a direct response to my father’s passing from dementia in April 2020. I have tried to remain as faithful to Giazoto’s orchestration as humanly possible whilst also allowing for some element of embellishments. I guess, in my head, I was wondering – What would Busoni have done with this work had he transcribed it. The Transcription is my own work and I reserve all rights to it, however the Adagio itself remains the copyright of Ricordi (so much as I can ascertain)… If someone from Ricordi.com wish to get in touch to publish it under their house, I would be very happy to chat to them! As such, this transcription is not available to purchase right now (sorry!).
